Unity’s award-winning Demo team, the creators of Adam and Book of the Dead, is working on a new short film called The Heretic. It’s a real-time cinematic running at 30 fps at 1440p on a consumer-class desktop PC. The first part of the project was revealed at GDC 2019.
Real-time ray tracing, the holy grail of graphics, is now possible thanks to the NVIDIA Turing architecture and the NVIDIA RTX development platform. To showcase these new capabilities, NVIDIA created this cinematic ray-traced scene running in real time in Unreal Engine 4.
